Macon Electric Cooperative offers rebates and incentives on both dual fuel and ground source heat pump systems. In order to receive a rebate for one of these systems, please complete the appropriate Take Control & Save Rebate Application and return it to our office (within 90 days of your purchase) with a copy of your dated sales receipt. If you or your contractor has questions regarding the eligibility of your HVAC equipment, please contact our office prior to installation to insure you will qualify for the rebates listed.
Ground Source (Geothermal) System - $750 Per Ton

Review and discuss the Ground Source Heat Pump Rebate Application with your HVAC contractor.
In order to ensure your ground source heat pump installation will qualify for the rebate listed, we strongly recommend having a Residential Energy Audit conducted by Macon Electric Cooperative.
In order to qualify, the homeowner must ensure a minimum of R-10 insulation on the foundation walls or slab. The cooperative provides a Basement/Crawlspace/Slab rebate for GSHP installs to assist with this requirement.

Dual Fuel System - $150 Per Ton
Must be an air-source heat pump with high efficiency propane or natural gas backup heating.

Note: Macon Electric Cooperative offers a special rate for qualifying air-to-air dual fuel systems. In order to take advantage of this special rate, please review, complete and return a copy of the Macon Electric Cooperative Dual Fuel Agreement.

Mini Split Heat Pump
Equipment must be installed by a certified dealer and meet the Energy Star +2 SEER rating of 17.
Unit must have either NO backup heat, or a fossil fuel for backup. Electric resistance back-up does not qualify.
Water Heaters - $150
Must be 40 gallons or larger.
Must be 90% or greater in efficiency.
Must not be heated using any other fuel source (i.e. wood stove, etc).

Energy Star Water Heater Rebate Application
Energy Star® Window Air Conditioner - $50
Please return all documents to our office (within 90 days of your purchase) with a copy of your dated sales receipt.
Heat Pump Water Heaters - $600
The energy efficiency rating must meet Energy Star standards.
The rebate applies to the replacement of an existing electric heater that is less than 0.90 efficiency or the replacement of a gas water heater. New construction is also eligible.
Limit two per member address.
Advanced Thermostat - $50
Must be an Energy Star rated thermostat.
Limit up to two per member address.
Intended for new construction or the replacement of an existing non Energy Star thermostat.
Programmable Timer for Engine Block Heater - $15
Utilize a programmable timer with the use of an engine block heater.
Commercial and Industrial High Efficiency Motors
Replace a less efficient motor with a a higher efficiency motor that meets current NEMA Premium standards in an existing facility.
Rebate per motor is based on horsepower size.
Commercial and Industrial Variable Frequency Drives for HVAC Systems - $50 per brake HP
Rebate is for installing variable frequency drive motors for HVAC pumps and fans in an existing facility.
These drives must be electronically controlled by an automated system.
