Macon Electric Cooperative Board of Directors is pleased to announce they have selected Timothy Korman of Macon, Missouri, as the company’s new General Manager. Korman will fill the role immediately and work together with former General Manager, Todd Schroeder, until the end of February.

Korman has been employed by Macon Electric Cooperative for over thirty years. He began his time with the company in May of 1990 as an Equipment Repair and Operator; hired to install the newly purchased SCADA system. He became a Lineman in 1993 and was then promoted to Lead Lineman, followed by Line Superintendent. In June of 2017, Korman became the Operations Manager where he has served until filling the role of General Manager.

Throughout his time with the Cooperative, Korman has served on several different committees including the AMEC Safety Manual Revision Committee, State Technical College Lineman School Advisory Committee, and was an instructor at AMEC Overhead Line Schools. He also attends the Marceline Chamber of Commerce meetings on behalf of MEC. Outside of the Cooperative world, Korman is involved in many community events and is an active member of the Immaculate Conception Church of Macon.

Tim and his wife, Amy, are longtime residents of Macon. They have two daughters, Abbie (Korman) Myers and Averie Korman. Abbie and her husband, Josh, reside in Macon with their two daughters, Ruby and Marie, and are expecting their third baby girl in May. Averie is currently a student at Moberly Area Community College studying nursing. Tim loves spending time with his family and watching Chiefs football.

“The Board of Directors is eager for Macon Electric Cooperative to continue its’ record of success under Mr. Korman’s leadership and through its dedicated staff and employees," Board President Jay Collins said in making the announcement, congratulating Korman and expressing the excitement of the cooperative. "We appreciate his work ethic, strong leadership abilities, and the well-deserved respect from other employees.”

Korman stated “I look forward to serving Macon Electric Cooperative as its General Manager and will remain committed to the high standards set by employees and members of the cooperative. I am very proud of OUR cooperative and thankful to the Board of Directors for entrusting me with this responsibility.”

Former MEC General Manager, Todd Schroeder, will be headed to another cooperative in Oklahoma at the end of February after assisting Korman in the transition. Schroeder served Macon Electric Cooperative for four years and navigated many changes in the industry. “We are very appreciative to the community for welcoming our family and will remember our time in Macon very fondly,” says Schroeder.

Macon Electric Cooperative serves about 11,300 members in nine counties with 45 employees that maintain a 2,900-mile distribution system covering a 2,500 square mile service area.
