Macon Electric Foundation Awards Grant to Shelby County Fair Association
The Macon Electric Foundation awarded the Shelby County Fair Association with a grant for $1,000 to assist with making upgrades to the grandstands at the Shelby County Fairgrounds. The Foundation’s community grants are funded through Operation Round Up, where Macon Electric Cooperative (MEC) members and PWSD of Macon County customers can elect to have their bills each month rounded up to the next dollar. The proceeds are used to benefit area non-profits through a system of quarterly grants, awarded by the Foundation’s volunteer board of directors.
“The mission of the Macon Electric Foundation is to make a difference in the communities that we serve,” stated Roxie Stoneburner, Macon Electric Foundation Board Member. “We enjoy partnering with local organizations such as the Shelby County Fair Association to give back to our communities in a positive way.”

Organizations can apply for a Macon Electric Foundation grant by submitting an application to the Macon Electric Cooperative office prior to the due date for each quarter.
