Macon Electric Foundation Awards Grant to Jo-Ota Methodist
The Macon Electric Foundation awarded the Jo-Ota Methodist Association with a grant for $500 to help fund a the purchase of a wheelchair ramp for the boat dock. The Foundation’s community grants are funded through Operation Round Up, where Macon Electric Cooperative (MEC) members and PWSD of Macon County customers can elect to have their bills each month rounded up to the next dollar. The proceeds are used to benefit area non-profits through a system of quarterly grants, awarded by the Foundation’s volunteer board of directors.
“The Macon Electric Foundation board was happy to present Jo-Ota Methodist with this grant,” stated Sommer Isaacson, Foundation board member. “Our goal as a board is to help communities in our service area and we are able to reach this goal through the generosity of the MEC members and PWSD customers who have signed up to participate in Operation Round Up."
MEC members and PWSD customers can help give back to their communities by signing up for Operation Round Up. Members can register online at www.maconelectric.com/operation-round-up, or contact the office at (660) 385-3157.
