Founded in 1938, Macon Electric Cooperative is a not for profit private enterprise serving 11,000 member-owners who live on the 2,700 miles of electric lines in the counties of Adair, Chariton, Linn, Knox, Macon, Monroe, Randolph, Shelby and Sullivan. Our major goal is to provide reliable electric service at the lowest possible cost. Macon Electric Cooperative is committed to providing services to our consumers that contribute to quality rural life while maintaining essential energy services. Today we have a variety of programs to meet consumer needs while providing service you can depend on.You must belong to the cooperative to receive electric service. A membership application must be completed prior to the extension of electric service.
